An ongoing investigation into the iconography of light as a “prayer from the east”. The project explores, firstly, the architectural orientation in relation to the cardinal directions according to the heavenly prototype as posed by sacred geometry, and, secondly, the sacred space affixed within the panel paintings where the architectural detailing of the arch motif is employed. Here I focus on the mimesis of reality where temporal art imitates the transient experience within the interior sacred space thus serving as a reflection for the viewer through its portal.
